Enshrinement 2012 brings in big names

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Its big names like Reggie Miller and Don Nelson around here that attract so much attention and visitors.

Also having Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson all coming back to present at the ceremony brings a lot of excitement as well.

One lesser known group, the All American Red Heads is being inducted as well.

They were an all women's professional basketball team that played by men's rules and beat men about 80% of the time.

They played together from the 30's until the 80's.

Some of the many players traveled to Springfield to be inducted.

They said they're enjoying all Springfield has to offer and are so thrilled to be recognized for their groundbreaking achievements.

Michelle Pollard says, “By the time the 80's rolled around, men really dominated the floor and so we had to show that we were capable and that we could play cause we were able to play ball. “
