SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration confirmed the record breaking heat.
There's also a moderate drought we're dealing with here.
In July, it only rained 1.9 inches, almost two inches below average.
A landscaper told 22News the combination of heat and humidity is affecting his business too.
Bryant Melluzza says, “We started a littler earlier in the morning, quit earlier in the afternoon honestly taking a few days off when its gets to 99 degrees. ”
July had more above average temperatures nationally, which is another record.
