WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Police are looking for a driver that led a state trooper on a wild chase late Saturday night, which ended at the Beauty Gate Salon and Day Spa on Riverdale Street.
A Massachusetts State Trooper spotted a gray Buick driving around 90 miles per hour in a construction zone on Interstate 91 in West Springfield.
After the trooper turned on its sirens, the driver sped up and exited onto Route 5.
The car, which was stolen, crashed into the salon.
The driver ran off and has not been found. The salon did not sustain major damage, and will be open on Tuesday.
Beauty Gate released the following statement to 22News:
"After midnight an accident occurred during a high speed car chase that ended with a vehicle colliding with the building. We would like to thank the West Springfield police and fire department and the Massachusetts State police for their quick response, professionalism and support during this incident. The damage to the building does not effect our operation. We would like to inform our clients that we will be open for full range of Salon and Spa services on Tuesday during our regular hours 11 -8 pm.
