SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Election Day is a few weeks away, but the voter registration deadline is on Wednesday.

If you have moved out of town since you last voted, you have to re-register.

But if you moved within your town you have to notify the town clerk office.

There are more than 4 million registered voters in Massachusetts and State officials hope that more than 70 percent of those voters will turnout for the presidential election next month.

The Greenfield town clerk says if you aren't sure if you're registered, it doesn't hurt to double check.

Maureen Winseck says, “If a person has registered at the RMV here in mass they should also check their registration especially if they did not receive a confirmation notify from there city or town.”

If you are going to be out of town or physically unable to vote Election Day you have until November 5th to fill out an absentee ballot.

Most town clerk offices will be open until 8 pm for registration. The last day to register is this Wednesday.
