AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - A second account of an Amherst College student being sexually abused on campus surfaced just weeks after the school's sexual assault counselor resigns.
Trey Malone took his own life last June. His suicide note was published by the editors of the website " The Good Men Project" last week.
In it, Malone wrote about being sexually abused while a student at Amherst College and the school's lack of response.
Amherst College President Carolyn Martin released an open letter that same week saying the college took disciplinary action against the attacker.
Martin says the college also provided on-going support up until Malone's withdrawal in December of last year.
Students told 22News they are concerned but confident the college is taking necessary steps to educate the student community. The school recently canceled classes to host a day long forum addressing issues of sexual abuse.
The school's sexual abuse counselor resigned last month. It was one week after Angie Epifano's account of sexual abuse at the college was published by the school paper.
