Bail request denied for murder suspect Ryan Welch

Welch charged with murder of Jessica Pripstein

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A Hampshire County Judge denied bail Monday for murder suspect Ryan Welch of Easthampton.

Welch is charged with the February 20th death of 39-year old Jessica Pripstein.

Northwestern District Attorney Spokeswoman Mary Carey told 22News the defense had requested a bail amount of $500,000 surety or $50,000 cash on Welch's behalf.

The judge denied that request.  

Welch's next court appearance is scheduled for August 3rd.
