HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - Presidents’ Day is Monday, and that means a big sales weekend is ahead. In fact, the February holiday marks the biggest sales weekend since Black Friday.
Online shopping resource FatWallet.com says that during Presidents’ Day weekend, furniture, appliances and electronics can cost up to 80% less than the retail value. Monte Newman, manager of Manny’s TV in Hadley, says that the weekend brought in $100,000 in sales last year.
This year, however, they're not the crowds to be quite as large.
“I hear mixed things from everybody I know in different stores and different aspect of this industry. Even the repair guys, there's a lot more repairs going on than people buying new things,” Newman said.
Newman says that manufacturers structure sales around the weekend by offering more mail-in rebates and extended financing.
