BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) - Two people are safe, but a cat was killed in a fire at a Belchertown home Monday morning.

Captain John Workman of the Belchertown Fire Department told 22News that the damage from the fire at 85 North Main Street Unit 18 was confined largely to the living room.

Workman said two of the home’s residents were able to make it out of the home uninjured, but their pet cat did not make it.
