SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A former Ware resident has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.

According to a news release sent to 22News by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Christopher Boucher, 44, of West Brookfield had been convicted on child pornography charges more than eight years ago.

Prosecutors say that last January, state police had searched Boucher’s former home in Ware, where they found a laptop containing a video showing a young girl being raped repeatedly. Boucher then allegedly confessed to them that he used file-sharing programs to get sexually-explicit videos featuring children between the ages of 12 and 15.

At U.S. District Court in Springfield Tuesday, Boucher received his sentence on the charge of possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor. His 10-year prison sentence will be followed by 10 years of supervised release.

In 2000, Boucher pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography, and was sentenced to six months of home detention and five years probation.
