AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - A fundraiser held Sunday to benefit the Amherst Survival Center has exceeded expectations.
Organizers of the first Cider Donut Run at the Mill River Recreational Area said they never expected as many as four hundred runners for their inaugural event.
Organizer Eric Nazar told 22News, the survival center helped him and his Mom when he was a child, “We relied on the Amherst Survival Center for food and clothing while we were here. So this is my way of giving back".
The Amherst Survival Center helps four thousand people every year including senior citizens, the homeless, people with disabilities and the working poor.
