SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - Allen Fitzsimmons, a squash coach at Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, has been charged with sexual assault for an incident that allegedly happened during September of 2006. Court documents show that Allen was arrested on February 23rd, and charged with 4th degree sexual assault.

At the time the alleged assault took place, he worked at the Westover School, an all girl prep school in Middlebury CT, where he was the head coach of the varsity squash team.

Mt. Holyoke College spokesperson Mary Jo Curtis told 22News Fitzsimmons has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of this case.

Curtis said "the charges involve conduct that is alleged to have occurred in Connecticut in 2006, prior to his employment with the College. The charges do not involve activities directly or indirectly related to his employment at Mount Holyoke."

Fitzsimmons has worked at Mt. Holyoke College since 2008.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday at Waterbury Superior Court.
