BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) - Belchertown Cub Scouts learned community service at an early age on Saturday.
The Cub Scouts helped wrap gift packages to raise money for Hurricane Sandy victims living on Staten Island.
This was the first of days of gift wrapping at St. Francis Parish Hall.
“We are wrapping gifts for the victims of Hurricane Sandy at Belchertown, Massachusetts,” said Cub Scout Cameron Bacon. “We are doing something very nice and I think this is good for the Sandy victims.”
The Cub Scouts point out this community service is part of their Scout oath to help other people. They'll be wrapping Christmas packages again on Sunday at St. Francis Church in Belchertown.
