NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A woman from Florence arrested for breaking into a Northampton home while armed also admitted to two recent robberies, a district attorney’s spokesperson says.

Forty-eight year-old Nancy Gehrung is accused of breaking into a home on Massasoit Avenue on Christmas Day. The family was not home at the time of the break-in, but when they returned home, Gehrung allegedly pointed a gun at them. She was arrested nearby, and the gun was also recovered a short distance away, according to Mary Carey of the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.

After Gehrung was arrested, she admitted to Northampton Police that she broke into the house, committed a similar robbery in Holyoke on December 23, and had robbed an Enfield package store on Christmas Eve, Carey says. Carey added that details of these crimes will be released during testimony in court on Friday, but that they will not be released at this time, as they remain under investigation.

Gehrung is being held without bail as she awaits a hearing on a motion to have her held prior to trial.
