NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - An annual event in Northampton is bringing attention to the issue of domestic violence.
Dozens of people came to Pulaski Park in Northampton for the Brides March.
The rally and march commemorates Gladys Ricart, a woman who was killed by a former boyfriend on her wedding day.
Organizers say they hope to open people's eyes to the danger of domestic violence.
"We wear bridal gowns, we wear white to remember that sometimes a wedding and marriage and relationships are the happiest time of someone's life and there's times when they're dangerous and deadly even,” said Marianne Winters.
According to Safe Passage there have been twelve domestic violence related homicides in Massachusetts this year.
