FLORENCE, Mass. (WWLP) - A Florence Walgreens pharmacy has been robbed twice, and now Northampton Police are trying to figure out whether the incidents are connected.
Northampton Police say no one was hurt in the robberies, but the suspects did get away with an unspecified amount of Oxycodone, a strong painkiller.
The pharmacy, which is located inside the Northampton Health Center on Main Street in Florence, was first robbed on October 3. The most recent robbery happened last Friday night just before 7:00 P.M.
Police said the suspect was wearing a white mask and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Since Friday’s robbery, the pharmacy has changed its hours, and will now close at 6:00 P.M. instead of 7:00 P.M.
The incidents have police and members of the public wondering if there is any connection to a similar robbery in Springfield.
“I know there was one here again recently a few weeks ago and one in Springfield,” Betty Santos of Florence said. “In my mind they probably could be connected with the same people involved.”
In the Springfield robbery , on September 22, Oxycodone pills were stolen from the Walgreens store on Sumner Avenue. Northampton police are looking to find out if there is a link.
