NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Florist Nancy Gehrung is facing six criminal charges for allegedly breaking into a Northampton home Christmas Day, armed with a gun.

A Hampshire County Grand Jury returned indictments against Gehrung Tuesday on charges of burglary while armed with a firearm, robbery while armed with a firearm, possession of a firearm, possession of a large-capacity firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and receiving stolen property.

Gehrung, 48, of Florence, is accused of breaking into a house on Massasoit Avenue on Christmas. According to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, the family who lived in the house returned home while Gehrung was inside, and she allegedly pointed a gun at them before running away. She was caught by police a short time later.

In December, Northwestern DA spokeswoman Mary Carey told 22News that Gehrung had admitted to Northampton police that she broke into the Massasoit Avenue house, and confessed to a similar robbery in Holyoke, as well as the robbery of an Enfield package store on Christmas Eve. The gun involved in the Northampton break-in is alleged to have been stolen from a Connecticut police officer’s locked car.
