NORTHAMPTON, Mass (WWLP) - Pump prices in Massachusetts have been on the decline since late last year.

According to AAA, today's average price for a gallon of regular is still ten cents higher than this time last year.  Today's state average, $3.48, is also 18 cents higher than the national average for gallon of regular, $3.30. Drivers told 22News they shop around for the best deal.

“Some places they are $3.47 and this one is $3.43.” said Richard Douville from Northampton.

“It hasn't been to an extent that really slaps you in the face so my feeling is that as long as it stays under $3.50 a gallon I'm not going to wince.” said David Mintz from Florence.

Analysts say if the upward trend continues we could see gas prices go over $3.80 by April.
