NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) - The trial of a Granby woman charged with beating and strangling her wife is scheduled to start in February.
A judge on Monday scheduled jury selection in the trial of Cara Lee Rintala for Feb. 11. The trial was scheduled after the prosecutor and defense attorney told a judge that DNA testing in the case had been completed.
Rintala is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the March 2010 death of Annamarie Cochrane Rintala, who was found dead in the basement of the couple's home. The victim had been a paramedic for American Medical Response.
Prosecutors have said the couple had a turbulent relationship and faced financial problems.
The 46-year-old Rintala has pleaded not guilty.
