NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - In what Northwestern District Attorney David Sullivan says is a “big boost” to their office, they’re announcing a new partnership with the Insurance Fraud Bureau of Massachusetts to continue to fight fraud in western Massachusetts.

The IFB’s Community Insurance Fraud Initiative has helped reduced the number of fraudulent insurance claims paid by $500M since 2003. Their work will help the DA’s office, which just recently established a financial crimes unit.

In addition to announcing the partnership, the IFB of Massachusetts presented a check for $10,000 to the Northwest DA’s office, which serves Hampshire and Franklin Counties, as well as Athol in Worcester County.
