BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) - The snow and cold temperatures in March aren't only causing problems on the road; they're causing problems at home.
When temperatures drop outside, people have to turn up the heat inside and with home heating oil prices around 3.70 a gallon; this new round of snow is taking a toll.
Gas prices continue to wreak havoc to budgets. The good news, gas prices are down, something we haven't seen since last year.
However, not down by much. In the Greater Springfield area gas is around 3.69 only down 3 cents from last week. This has some scrimping and literally putting in the bare minimum.
“Yeah, I've got a big family, a family of five, I've got four kids so yeah I cut back on everything,” said Dan Lauren of Ware.
Gas prices aren’t expected to take a big dip anytime soon. People 22News spoke with say they hope spring hurries up so they can cut back at least on the home heating oil.
