NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Inmates at the Hampshire County House of Corrections were honored for their release back into the community Wednesday morning.
Hampshire County Sheriff Robert Garvey and his staff hosted the 8th annual Re-entry Roundtable Breakfast Wednesday morning, to celebrate the inmates' transition back into real life.
22News asked the inmates what they are looking forward to once they are released.
“What I see when I get out...I have plans on doing the things regular people do: working for a living, 9 to 5, and being married and being there for my family and taking care of my responsibilities,” inmate Kyle Blake said.
“I'm moving forward and looking to reintegrate into the community and becoming a productive members of society,” said inmate Angel Guzman.
The Re-entry Program has been around for eight years, and involves correctional and treatment staff at the jail, probation and parole officers, state police, and community service providers.
