EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Another example of the importance of micro-chipping your pet. Angel the cat went missing from her Easthampton home on July 7th.

Nobody knows what kind of adventure she had for five weeks, but it involved crossing a river and forest into Northampton, where she was eventually found Tuesday.

The traveling cat ended up at Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society , and thanks to her micro-chip, she was reunited with her very relieved owner. "It brings your pet back home, so it's definitely worth it to invest in that. And you can get that done here at Dakin and you can get it at your vet's office but it reunites families," said Kelly Richey.

Dakin will be offering micro-chipping clinics on the following dates:

  • Thursday, September 1st
  • Saturday, October 1st
  • Saturday, November 5th
  • Saturday, December 3rd

Clinics will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. each day. Vaccinations and microchips will cost $5.00 a piece.
