NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Acting Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz has won a term of his own.

By a comfortable margin, Narkewicz defeated City Councilor Michael Bardsley, who ran unsuccessfully for mayor in 2009. He received 6,456 votes, or 70% to Bardsley's 2,763 votes.

Narkewicz has been serving as acting mayor following the retirement of Mayor Mary Clare Higgins.

In other Northampton races, William Dwight and Jesse Adams were elected to the City Council at-large, and incumbent Phil Spector is keeping his seat in Ward 2.

David Rothstein and Marlene Morin won Community Preservation at-large seats, and a ballot question to repeal the Community Preservation Act failed 69% to 31%.
