NFL call heard around the country

Northampton, Mass - It's a Monday night football match-up and the Seattle Seahawks are down by five against the Green Bay Packers. The Seahawks attempt one last play before the clock runs out, and no one could have predicted what happened next.

It seems like the call heard around the country. As the Seahawks attempt one last play with eight seconds on the clock in the fourth quarter, Russell Wilson throws a touchdown pass to Golden Tate.

“Simultaneous, who has it? who did they give it to. Touchdown!”

But was it a touchdown or an interception? Critics of the call say M.D. Jennings intercepted the pass. But an NFL statement today confirmed the League stands by the ruling of the referees. We showed the video to people at an Amherst diner.

“Interception, thank you, I agree, interception, definitely.”

“Looked like a touchdown to me, but with the instant replay it was definitely a touch... an interception.”

And to a die hard Patriot's fan in Hadley.

“Look at the push, look at the guy got away with an extreme push off and then you know there's a disputed catch.” Says Anthony Leffler.

“So, who's to blame and why is this happening? A labor dispute between the league's referees and the NFL has kept officials off the field for the last three weeks. College football referees are now officiating the games and fans say the lockout is jeopardizing the integrity of the sport.”

“It seems hard to believe that they would be nickle and diming this issue and the entire industry would be kind of run ruffshot with that kind of thinking.” Says Chris Peltier.
