NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Last weekend's Nor’easter paralyzed cities and town across the Pioneer Valley.
Many businesses were closed as a result of the storm, so even if you managed a way to dig out, there weren't many places to go or to park.
In Northampton, the majority of restaurants and music venues on and off Main Street closed on Friday night and all day Saturday. But DPW crews have been working around the clock to remove snow banks from city streets.
We spoke to people who had plans last weekend and say they are glad temps are warming up.
“I had a friend visiting that weekend and she was supposed to leave Saturday morning to go a concert, she's a bassist,” said Lisa Orenstein of Northampton. “And she couldn't she was stuck for two extra days.”
Bob Burnett of Southampton said, “It was kind of comfy being inside and we didn't lose power so we were lucky.”
Both Lisa and Bob plan to have dinner in Northampton this weekend. And if you are planning a night out here, there are plenty of places to park. You can get a link to parking maps in the city by clicking here .
