NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - People in western Massachusetts also honored Martin Luther King Day.

Dozens turned out to the Christ United Methodist Church in Northampton for the 29th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Program.  The day began with a community breakfast where many spoke about how violence and oppression present themselves in the world today.

The breakfast was followed by a walking tour in Florence and will end at 7PM with a talk at Smith College.

The day long event was hosted by The American Friends Service Committee of Western Massachusetts, Smith College, the Media Education Foundation, and the Northampton Interfaith Clergy.
