NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - If you were neither buying nor selling, but had a lot of personal papers to shred, the Smith Vocational High School parking lot was also a good place to be.
Shredding may not be easy on the ears, but it's considered necessary to get rid of documents you don't want falling into the wrong hands
People brought box loads of their personal papers to be shredded.
Scott Kennedy of Northampton told 22News, “I work out of my home. I have a lot of confidential documents. They accumulate in my work. I thought it would be a good thing to bring down documents that I have been meaning to shred and I haven't gotten around to yet.”
Potential identity theft is a critical issue. Shredding helps remove the threat of someone gaining access to personal information.
