HUNTINGTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Landline telephone service has been completely restored to residents of the town of Huntington.
Phone service in that area was knocked out when an alleged hit–and-run driver took out a utility pole on Route 112.
Residents and businesses had been without service for two days , and Verizon workers initially thought it could take up to five days before everyone had telephone service again. But by 6:00 Sunday night, everyone was back on line.
State Police say 21-year-old Nathan Callahan of Chester crashed into the utility pole, causing the outage. He has been charged with his second OUI offense.
