SOUTH HADLEY, Mass (WWLP). - Planning the future of the Falls.
Nearly 200 South Hadley residents turned out for a public forum Monday night to discuss what they'd like to see improved in the Falls section of town.
With the help of a grant, the town has hired a six-person team to chart the course for the revitalization.
Residents told 22News they'd like to see improvements to aging buildings and infrastructure, as well as better access to the river.
Gillian Woldorf told 22News, "along main street a lot of the building facades are kind of falling apart so it would be really great to see some of that fixed up."
Steer Committee Chair Helen Fantini told 22News, "we're hearing about connectivity not just to the river but to the rest of town in terms of bikeways and walking."
Another meeting will be held Wednesday night. The design team will present their findings and the next steps to the public.
