AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - There was an unruly post-super bowl disturbance at the University of Massachusetts campus in Amherst.
14 people were arrested, 13 of them were students.
22News cameras were rolling as police arrived in the Southeast Residential Plaza area, shortly after the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.
If you look at our video, you can see police setting off what appears to be a smoke canister to keep the crowd at bay.
Then we see a student who actually was able to get on top of a building, shouting below in an effort to rally the students.
We also got video of a student getting cuffed and escorted away by police.
13 of the 14 people arrested were students.
They are charged with disorderly conduct, and will be arraigned in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown sometime this week.
