Restaurants busy before weekend storm

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Another weekend, another snow storm on its way and these weekend storms are putting a strain on restaurants.

Many were forced to close during the nor'easter and overall the snow also cuts down on crowds.

At the Delaney House in Holyoke, snow on Saturday means a packed crowd Friday night.

But it's not enough to make up for what snow does to business.

"On a Saturday night this time of year it's probably the busiest day of the week for us so we usually pray to the snow gods that it doesn't happen, a Monday is perfect,” Owner Mick Cordoff said.

"Certainly we came out this evening instead of tomorrow just in case,” Christine Maiwald said

"We try not to have it affect us too much, obviously it creates some problems here and there but we enjoy going out and if it's a bit slippery we just take a different car,” Werner Maiwald said.

Cordoff said they will close the restaurant any time travel conditions are not safe for staff and customers.
