NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - The parking lot at Northampton's Smith Vocational High School was a good place to do some bargain hunting Saturday.
A community tag sale is where people can both buy something they've been looking for and at the same time sell what they no longer need.
The Northampton Department of Public Works sponsored the reuse and recycling rally.
“We are having the day of our lives, right Anna? Yes, having fun selling stuff. Selling all of Anna's treasures,” said Pam Tyson.
“We have lots of extra things that we're trying to give people,” Nancy Allen.
It seemed there wasn't anything you couldn't buy at the reuse and recycling rally. Well you could find almost everything.
“I was hoping to find a portable radio. A battery operated portable radio. I have looked high and low for a used portable radio, but I can't find a used battery operated portable radio,” said Steven Torzi.
The community tag sale became a Mecca for bargain hunters, most of whom we're told found what they were looking for.
The DPW sponsors these events to help people reduce clutter and promote recycling and reuse.
The DPW has put on half a dozen of these sales. The one this weekend was probably the last one of the year.
