NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Many parts of Western Massachusetts experienced severe thunderstorms Sunday.
Lightning, flooding, downed trees, and downed utility lines is the mess left behind in the aftermath of severe thunderstorms that blew through our area Sunday night. Within those thunderstorms lightning strikes could be seen and heard. For some it was too close for comfort.
Shawn Miller told 22news “A lot of lightning. It’s pretty close and seemed very dangerous to be outside at the time.”
Heavy storms caused damage all over our area, strong enough to knock down a large tree in Northampton.
The stormy weather has also taken its toll on power in our area. Power outages were reported in Agawam, Springfield, Easthampton and Greenfield.
