NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) - The wife and mother of two men killed in a Northampton house fire has filed a wrongful death suit against the man accused of setting the blaze.

Elaine Yeskie filed suit against Anthony Baye in Hampshire Superior Court on Wednesday.

The 77-year-old Yeskie is the widow of 81-year-old Paul Yeskie Sr. and mother of 39-year-old Paul Yeskie Jr., who died in the December 2009 fire.

Authorities say the 27-year-old Baye set a series of fires in town the same night. He pleaded not guilty and remains in jail awaiting trial.

Elaine Yeskie is seeking monetary and punitive damages. The Daily Hampshire Gazette reports that the lawsuit states she suffered severe emotional distress having witnessed the death of her husband and son.

Baye's attorney had no comment.
