NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A teacher at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter School is being criminally charged, after he allegedly e-mailed a nude photo of himself to a 17 year-old girl.

Daniel Lozada, 33, of Easthampton was arraigned in Northampton District Court on Monday, on a single charge of disseminating obscene material to a minor.

Mary Carey, Spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, told 22News that Lozada has been placed on administrative leave.

Lozada posted $250 bail after being arrested on November 16. Judge W. Michael Goggins set no additional bail during Lozada’s arraignment Monday morning.

Under the conditions requested by the DA’s office, which the court imposed, Lozada cannot have any unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 18, he cannot teach or instruct anyone under the age of 18, he cannot spend the night anywhere a child under 18 is present, he cannot use any electronic devices for communication of a sexual nature, he will have his electronic devices monitored, he cannot have any contact with the alleged victim, and he must report regularly to the Department of Probation.

Lozada is scheduled to be back in court on January 10.

It is not clear whether the alleged victim is a student at the school.
