HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - A one car accident in Hadley injured two people and forced the closure of two major roads for a part of Monday morning.
It was at around 12:30AM when a car with Connecticut plates that was coming off Route 116 crashed head-on into a telephone pole at the corner of Route 9 and West Gate Center Drive.
Sgt. Michael Mason told 22News two people were taken to Baystate Medical Center.
They had use the jaws of life to get them out.
22News cameras were rolling as the life flight helicopter took off with the driver of the car.
Sgt. Mason said they had to block off Route 116 South and Route 9 East and West in order for the chopper to land.
He also told 22News the impact of the crash into the pole knocked out power to the surrounding area, but that it was almost immediately restored.
The roads are back open for your Monday morning commute.
