CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - For years 22News has been reporting on the problem of homeless families living in hotels.  The state agrees the program is too expensive and they're making changes to get the homeless out of hotels and into more permanent housing.

This week on 22News InFocus Arthur Jemison, thestate's Deputy Undersecretary of the State Department of Housing and Community Development, will join us for a half hour to discuss what's being done to curb the problem and outline a plan to phase out all the homeless in hotels by June of 2014.

We'll also be joined by Ellen Hatzakis, Chief Operating Officer of HAP Housing in Springfield.  She will explain how their organization is helping the state and what we as a community can do to help.

Join us Sunday, January 20, at noon on 22News InFocus.
