A windy weekend in western Massachusetts left thousands of residents without power.
According to Western Massachusetts Electric Company more than 2,200 customers lost power around Noon on Saturday due to high wind gusts.
The strong winds knocked down power lines, interrupting service at many homes and businesses along Riverdale Rd. in West Springfield.
The towns of Ludlow, Belchertown and Ware all reported trees down. The winds were even strong enough to uproot at least one tree in Ware.
22News caught up with a tree company crew in the town of Ware working to restore power to affected residents. "Anywhere from Wilbraham, we've been in Ware, we did one in Palmer, we've been moving around," said Neil Dube from Lewis Tree Service.
As of 9 p.m. Saturday night power was restored to all but 64 homes in Berkshire, Franklin and Hampden counties according to the WMECO website.
