GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Greenfield moved one step closer to getting a wood burning power
plant. The 250 million dollar wood-burning power plant proposed for
Greenfield cleared its first environmental hurdle Wednesday.
The state ruled that no broader review is required under the
Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act. Pioneer Renewable Energy
LLC of Cambridge wants to build the 47-megawatt plant on land
adjacent to the Greenfield Industrial Park.
The project is still subject to town and state reviews and
permitting processes.
