SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The tastes and sounds of Italy were floating around the south
end of Springfield Saturday at the weekend-long 112th annual
Italian feast.
The feast is held on Winthrop Street at the Mount
Carmel Society.
One of the hottest items this year was the marinara sauce
drenched fried dough, watermelon and meatball grinders. "Love the
atmosphere and the food is great. i enjoy listening to dj roccos
music a lot," said Tess Perrotta of South Hadley.
The Italian feast will continue throughout the day Sunday
and, as in years past, will be highlighted by a ceremonial
procession of the Madonna.
