Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has set a test vote for next week on a separate $247 billion bill seen as part of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul plan.

Critics have pointed out that this bill is being drafted behind closed doors which candidate Obama promised not to do last year.

We asked local voters if they care that the bill is not being drafted publicly.

Melinda Kingsley is unsure, “I am really having a hard time with it. We are losing a lot of the integrity this country used to have."

While John Sexton doesn’t mind, “No I don't care as long as America goes in the right direction with happy health.”

The measure would be paid for with federal borrowing, which has provoked opposition from many Republicans and some deficit-conscious Democrats.
