GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The day after Thanksgiving used to be the start to the holiday shopping season, but now it seems the holiday shopping season starts sooner and sooner.

According to Google/OTX, almost one third of shoppers plan for Thanksgiving weekend to be their last gift hunting days.

One of the reasons people are shopping earlier is that they're allowing more time to find the best deal, keep their eyes open for the perfect sale, a little sooner than they did before.

Tamara Beauregard with Wilson's Department Store in Greenfield says they start targeting Christmas shoppers during the third week in October.

Beauregard told 22News people are doing more shopping to find the best deals. But not everyone is looking earlier, especially those who love the holiday rush.
