SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - With fears of swine flu going around, gyms are taking extra precautions to stop the spread of the virus.

At Females in Training in Springfield, there's plenty of hand sanitizer and disinfectant. After exercising, people are also required to wash down the equipment.

"A lot of members spray the machine before they use it," explains Ellen Bellicchi. "So they're cleaning it for themselves and then wiping it down after as well, so we go through a lot of bottles of disinfectant."

Bellicchi said that many gym members have also decided to wear gloves while working out as an added protection against swine flu.
