SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Community members say they won't let the rash of violence in Springfield overshadow the good that's being done everyday on city streets.
On Saturday, the Longmeadow football team held their annual fund raiser. Part of the proceeds will be going to Shriners Hospital.
The athletes told 22News that kindness goes a long way.
Teens in Springfield trudged through the rain, going door to door, collecting food for the Open Pantry. Nearly 100 local families will be able to have a healthy meal thanks to all the cans collected.
