HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - A group of Holyoke based organizations has joined forces to promote their culltural, recreational and educational events together under the title of PassportHolyoke.
With a goal of promoting the city as a destination and an aim to attract larger audiences, PassportHolyoke unveiled its new brochure.
The brochure will be used to promote various attractions,
restaurants and accomodations in an effort to draw visitors to the
area. It includes a map to help visitors get around the city
and region.
Vendors say the brochure will bring in much needed tourist
dollars.
A grant for $12,500 from the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority
helped fund the effort.
An additional grant from the National Endowment for the
Humanities for $399,950 has supported the creation of a city-wide
exhibit and heritage tourism plan for Holyoke called Creating
Holyoke.
This project includes the fabrication of long term museum
exhibits in three locations, two of which have been installed at
Holyoke Heritage State Park and the Children's Museum of
Holyoke.
