(WWLP) - One local shelter is worried that state budget cuts will force homeless residents out in the cold.
Friends of the homeless is calling for Governor Patrick to re-think the deep cuts that could hurt the program.
The 7-point-5 percent budget cut may force them to trim $50-thousand dollars from an already tight budget.
These cuts could force the shelter to end services that a rising number of homeless people are using to survive.
The cuts could also curb the police details which help keep the 200 person shelter safe at night.
