SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Some local college students received a lesson in how to detect fraud and embezzlement.

American International College teamed up with special agents from the Internal Revenue Service for a unique educational seminar.

Twenty-five students learned about forensic accounting by solving hypothetical financial crimes with the pros.

"It's showing us a lot of what they do and it's not just numbers. There's a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't know."

The "Adrian Project" Student Fraud Conference at A.I.C. is the 3rd in the state and the only seminar of its kind in Western Massachusetts.
