Mother speaks out about son's death

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A grief-stricken mother who's 11 year-old son committed suicide speaks out about the danger of bullying.

Sirdeaner Walker told 22News her son Carl Walker was picked on daily by the kids at New Leadership Charter School where he attended.

Officials from that school met with Walker in her home to express their condolences and hear her thoughts.

Sirdeaner blames bullying.

She told 22News Carl was active in sports and after school groups...and he was surrounded by a loving family.

Now, she is offering this advice for parents.

Carl's mother says she was considering pulling her son out of New Leadership Charter School, but was trying to work with the school first.

School officials said they are investigating all of the allegations of bullying and are deeply saddened by this situation.
