HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Swine flu appears to have peaked here in Western Massachusetts and other parts of the country according to Dr. Garry Bombardier of Holyoke Medical Center.
He said figures from the Centers for Disease Control show that cases of swine flu and hospitalizations for it dropped last week after both hit highs the week before.
He said school closings and absenteeism have also dropped since late October.
Bombardier told 22News swine flu cases are declining just as the regular flu season is about to begin.
He said even though swine flu cases decreased last week, there's still significant swine flu activity across the country.
