NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Powerful winds brought down power lines and limbs across the Pioneer Valley.
Early Wednesday a branch on Hope Street struck power lines, leaving a handful of business and about 600 residents without power. A very large branch fell across the road, onto power lines. They also fell on a car, crushing it.
Residents who witnessed the wind, including the woman who owned the vehicle, say the gusts came out of nowhere.
Hundreds in Bernardston, and Northfield also had damage and were without power for a few hours.
Also around 9:00pm tree came down blocking the road on Lyon St. at the Granby town line.
According to Western Massachusetts Electrics website, most of them have the power back on.
